Ascot Volunteer Bureau

Ascot Volunteer Bureau is a small local charity which is based in South Ascot. Their primary objective is to provide transport for the older residents of Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale to medical appointments.

Their other objective, is to provide a limited number of ‘lifelines’ to any elderly individuals who require them but would struggle to pay for them. A lifeline is a personal alarm system which allows an elderly person to seek help if they have a fall or feel unwell.

Over the last year the team of 5 office volunteers and 35 driver volunteers provided over 600 travel jobs and 5 ‘lifeline’ alarms.

AVB relies almost totally on donations from local sources to cover its operating costs. The Sunninghill Trust recognises AVB’s valuable work in the local community and has supported them for many years now.
